INTRON PLUS, Ltd. was established in 1988 being one of the first private NDT company in the USSR . From the very beginning the company was developing and delivering original instruments for non-destructive testing and measurements.

Thickness gauge INTROMET ITM-10 for copper thickness measurement in printed circuit boards (PCB) through holes (TH) was the first original company's product which appeared on the market in 1988. Numerous of ITM-10 and after ITM-11 and ITM-12 gauges was sold on domestic market. Penetration into world market was intensified after 1994, when the company introduced a new INTROMET ITM-MP and soon afterwards ITM-51, which have been successfully sold worldwide for years as CAVIDERM? CDE-5100.

In 1991 Intron started a new project for NDT of steel wire ropes. The electro-magnetic instrument for non-destructive inspection of ropes was sold to a first customer in 1992. Later, in 1994 and 1996, Intron re-developed the instrument which was called as the steel wire rope tester INTROS. In 2004 the company completed a new instrument INTROCON for NDT of steel cords in conveyor belts. INTROCON is applied for belts with practically unlimited width and length.

Intron is now leading manufacturer of wire ropes and steel-cord conveyor belts inspection equipment in the world. Rope testers INTROS are used for different applications such as the inspection of mine hoist ropes, aerial tramways, ski lifts, elevator and crane ropes, Syncrolift? ropes, bridge guy ropes, mooring ropes for offshore oil platforms, marine cables and many other applications. The instrument complies with standard ASTM E1571-01 and European Norm EN 12927-8:2004.
